Hot Buttered Rum

Type: Hot Drink

Ingredients:

  • 2 msr Dark RumSpirit distilled from fermented sugar cane. Dark rum originates from Jamaican and is full bodied and usually matured for around 5 years.
  • 1 tspn HoneyVery sweet, sticky syrup made by bees collecting nectar of flowers.
  • 2 1/2 msr WaterTap or bottled water - your choice.
  • 1 tspn ButterOr margarine if you prefer.
  • small pinch NutmegA spice that comes whole or ground. If you have whole nutmeg, grate it before adding it to cocktails.
  • 4 drops Vanilla EssenceComes in bottles - usually found in the baking section of the supermarket.


Method:

Heat rum, water and sugar in a saucepan but do not boil.
Add to heat-proof cup with remaining ingredients.
Wait for butter to melt before serving.
