Type: Hot Drink
- 5 msr CoffeeBlack coffee - made from instant coffee granules or in a percolator or caffitier. Use normal strength coffee, as you would usually drink it.
- 1 1/4 msr CognacFrench brandy distilled from white wine and matured in oak casks - VSO means very superior old; VSOP means very superior old pale; VVSOP means very very superior old (really!); XO means extremely old. Substitute: Brandy.
- 1/2 Lemon (Whole)Whole, fresh lemon - the rind and/or shell can also be used when this is required in a cocktail.
- 1 Cinnamon StickA spice - looks like woody bark.
Rim cup with lemon and sugar.
Heat all ingredients except cognac in a pan.
Pour cognac into soup ladel and heat to ignite.
Add cognac to coffee.
Strain into a heat-proof cup.
