Bourbon Mint Julep (1)

Type: Short Drink

Ingredients:

  • 2 msr BourbonAmerican-style whiskey distilled from fermented cereal and aged in oak casks e.g. Wild Turkey, Jack Daniels, Rebel Yell.
    Substitute: American blended whiskey, Tennessee whiskey
  • 1 dash BrandySpirit distilled from wine of grapes or other fruits e.g. see Apricot Brandy, Cherry Brandy or Blackberry Brandy. Normal non-flavoured brandy is smooth to taste and amber in colour.
  • 4 tspn Caster SugarFine white sugar.
    Substitute: Normal white or brown sugar, but stir or shake the cocktail well!
  • 1 Mint (Sprigs)Whole sprigs of fresh mint


Method:

Place half a glass of ice in a mixing jug
Add ingredients - excluding brandy - to jug
Stir
Fill a highball glass with ice
Add ingredients from jug, not including ice
Stir until glass frosts
Top with brandy
Garnish with lemon wedges &
