Haymaker
Type: Short Drink
Ingredients:
- 3/4 msr BourbonAmerican-style whiskey distilled from fermented cereal and aged in oak casks e.g. Wild Turkey, Jack Daniels, Rebel Yell.
Substitute: American blended whiskey, Tennessee whiskey - 3/4 msr Lime JuiceFreshly squeezed lime juice or the bottled lime juice you can buy in the grocery store - up to you. Just don't use lime cordial instead!
- 3/4 msr Triple SecSweet, orange Curacao.
Substitute: Cointreau if you're not worried about your cocktails being 100% authentic. - 3/4 msr Vermouth (Dry)Vermouth is a fortified wine flavoured with herbs, bark and plant extracts. Dry vermouth is pale, golden and white-wine based.
Method:
Three-quarters fill a rocks glass with broken ice.
Shake the ingredients together and strain into the glass.
Garnish with a cherry on a stick.
Note: For an authentic cocktail, use Maker's Mark bourbon.
